- I grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ (a suburb of Philadelphia), and came to Boston in 1986 when I enrolled in Emerson College. Upon graduating in 1990 with the expectation of getting into the advertising business, I instead worked as a court reporter for several years (Advertising was a tough field here in 1990). The day after graduation, I began a part time job at Beacon Hill Video, to keep myself in free movies and feed my love of film. I bought the shop a few years later, where I remained until August of 2007...
